ANTIQUE CHINESE BLUE & WHITE DRAGON VASE with FLAMING PEARLS, NICELY SIGNED

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a beautiful antique Chinese blue and white jardinière decorated with five-toed dragons chasing “flaming” pearls. Design encompasses the entire body of the jardinière and with the blue painted background having a mottled effect. Measures 7″ high with a top diameter of 7 1/2″, maximum width of about 9″ with the base measuring 6 3/4″ in diameter. This fabulous jardiniere has a raised unglazed bottom rim with recessed base marked with two old wax stamps and calligraphy markings. We are unfamiliar with the markings, however, it is clearly applied in under glaze blue paint. The jardiniere is in excellent condition commensurate with age. There is one very small “crease” in the body on the upper rim and several “rust” specks from the firing process of production throughout the body. There are also several “rust” spots in the white area above the outside rim. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on this amazing piece. Please see all photos as part of the description. We are not experts in Asian antiques so we can not date this piece accurately, however, we do believe it to be mid-19th Century or earlier. Fine Chinese Embroidered Gauze Fan Case/Holder Dragon Motif Antique Excellent

Listed here is a very fine and uncommon Chinese fan holder/case with a dragon motif. The embroidery technique is counted stitch on gauze and very well done. The dragon is a four clawed dragon which would not violate the use of the Imperial five claw dragon on items not for the Imperial family. Overall in extremely fine condition with the original string holder and faux coral color beads. There is one very small area of loss to the embroidery near the top of the case on one side. Please see photo 7. Dragons are NOT seen on these types of accessories in fact I have only seen two in all my years of collecting. The case is not stiffened like some fan cases. Overall the length of the case is just over 12 inches. The bottom of the case is fine and intact with no loosening or loss to the silk. A very nice item for collectors of Chinese costume accessories. Antique Vintage Chinese Carved Dragon Belt Buckle Green Jade and Brass Knife. I cannot guarantee that items are odor free. Has been in the attic since the 1940’s.
