Chinese Hand-carved 34 Alter Table Fretwork w/Dragons c. Up for your consideration is an early – mid 19th C. Hand-carved Chinese rectangular alter table, c. The piece has an exquisite open carved apron design depicting dragons, and is raised on block legs ending in elephant feet. The table measures as 34 tall, 50.25 wide, and 17.5 deep. The piece is in excellent condition, with age appropriate surface wear to the top. Some minor age-related cracks in the carving, which have been properly restored and do not distract. THIS LISTING IS FOR A RARE 19th CENTURY ANTIQUE CHINESE HAND CARVED JADE “BI” DISC OR AMULET WITH STYLIZED DRAGON AND SYMBOLS IN THE DESIGN MOUNTED ON WOODEN STAND. THE “BI” HAS NICE DETAILS AND BEAUTIFUL DARK GREEN COLORATION IN THE STONE. THE BI SITS ON A ELABORATE CARVED WOODEN STAND WHICH HAS ORIGINAL PAPER LABEL ON BASE WHICH DATES THE STAND TO THE 19th CENTURY. IT’S HARD TO ACCURATELY DATE THE “BI”, HOWEVER, WE BELIEVE IT TO BE 19th CENTURY OR EARLIER. THE “BI” MEASURES 2 7/8″ IN DIAMETER AND 1/4″ THICK WITH THE CENTER HOLE BEING 5/8 IN DIAMETER. THE STAND MEASURES 3 3/4″HIGH, 3 1/2″ WIDE AND 2 DEEP. WEIGHS 4.6 OUNCES. A “BI” IS A FLAT JADE DISC WITH A CIRCULAR HOLE IN CENTER. NEOLITHIC BI WERE UNDECORATED BUT IN LATER PERIODS THEY BEGAN TO BE DECORATED, OFTEN WITH SURFACE CARVINGS WITH MOTIFS REPRESENTING DIETIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE SKY (FOR DIRECTION) AS WELL AS STANDING FOR QUALITIES AND POWER THE BEARER WISHED TO EMBODY. THEY WERE CRAFTED ONLY FOR THE ELITE USING CRUDE TOOLS OF THE TIME. MEASURES 12 1/2″, 6″ WIDE AND 3 DEEP. WEIGHS 6.1 POUNDS. THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT WITH NO CHIPS OR CRACKS OR NOTED FLAWS. Antique Huge Chinese blue and white temple jar dragon foo dog Qing 19th

This large blue and white covered jar is 25 inches tall and 15 inches in diameter at the widest point. The jar is hand painted and is decorated with two dragons chasing a flaming pearl in the clouds. The dragons are four toed. The jar has animal heads (we think lions) on the side. The lid has a nicely detailed foo dog finial. The jar is unmarked. The bottom is unglazed and there are impurities in the footrim. It dates to the second half of the 19th century from the Guangxu period. The jar is in excellent condition with only wear to the glaze on the top of the jar. There are no other issues. The jar is heavily potted and weighs 26 lbs. The lid itself weighs 5 lbs.
