A Japanese Kakiemon-style bird-and-flower painting has been used here by a Dutch painter to decorate a Chinese porcelain bowl. The grouping of a pair of magpies, plum blossoms, and bamboo is a traditional Chinese image, which forms the rebus “the couple delights in double happiness” (zhumei shuangxi). Underglaze blue there is a dragon visible. The scene and quality of painting is amazing. Condition Overall Condition: small spots where brown rim has lost some paint, one of the spots could be a small fleebite. Some firing flaws to base rim. On Cherry Tree and Two Phoenixes or Mandarin Ducks , Rocks or Sea Waves , Cherry Trees , Sun and Clouds , Flowers , Five dragons and scrolling in border , measuring 49 1/2 inches by about 80 inches overall. In very good as shown condition with some moth damages to pile towards top of clouds and to the right of center as as shown w, which does not take away from beauty of the rug. Ends secured as shown. Some Salvage repair as shown Great combination of designs and colors. Soak washed multiple times last on 10/27/19 and it is clean enough to touch face with. Presented is an exquisite pair of Asian or Chinese carved horns. This is an exceptionally beautiful pair of detailed and hand carved horns that are mounted on wood stands. The upper portion of the horns have these wonderful carved dragons with red glass eyes. The bottom portion of the horns have very exotically carved birds of paradise. Both figures are set to be flying in the clouds. The horns measure approximately 17.5″ tall by approximately 9″ wide. They in nice condition with some wear and some scratches. Exceptional Chinese carved card case, made circa 1880. This is a magnificent and extremely finely carved card case, rectangular in shape and with a pull-off lid. The card case has stunning hand carved decoration to all sides with a boat, a horse, buildings, men and women, dragons, trees and birds on branches. The quality of the hand carving is exceptional. The card case is 2-1/4inches / 58 mm wide and 3-5/8 inches / 91 mm tall. The card case is in excellent condition. For your consideration is a rare supersized, fantastically carved and and t he best carved areas at the ends are adorned with gold leaf antique Chinese bench. T he gold leaf has softened over time and wear and is as you would expect on a fine old antique rather than a piece gold leafed yesterday. Bench is a bit of an understatement for this seven foot long beautifully carved wood seating constructed with traditional Chinese techniques. There is one old repair done along the top, uppermost rail about 4 in length. The repair was not color – matched w ell to the wood stain. It cab be properly repaired/re-stained if it bothers you. It took me a number of months before I noticed the repair. No other repairs , just appropriate signs of use and old age. I believe that this bench would have originally been furnished with seat cushion – one long rectangular cushion or two or three smaller flat rectangle cushion. HUGE 30 Vintage Chinese Black Cloisonne Vase with PHOENIX Birds & DRAGONS. Very Large Thin Metal & Enamel Cloisonne Vase (probably won’t hold water). Black Ground with 3 Five Toe Yellow Celestial Dragons & 3 Celestial Phoenix Birds. Also depicting Multicolored Flaming Pearls, Waves, Ruyi Shaped Clouds, Famille Rose style Flowers, Vines & Plants. Enameled Lavender on the Bottom. Exact age unknown, probably early-mid to mid-late 20th century, Vintage or older? 16 Pounds, 6 ounces. 30″ tall x 15.75″ wide.
