Century chinese bronze three legged vase. Decorated with flowers on its neck, dragon chasing pearl on the body, foo dogs as a handle, cock head as a leg and bats on its bottom ring. Chinese caligraphy on dragon’s flaming pearl. Othervise no mark or sign. Thick and heavy piece. Fine patina and good condition compare to its age. Top rim slightly dinged, bottom is cracked, all these imperfections are hard to notice, but clearly seen on the last 2 photos! The item “Large Antique 19. Antique 19th Century Chinese court robe in blue silk with gold metal embroidery. This is a striking robe, with the contrast of the vibrant gold thread against the rich cobalt blue fabric. This is an Imperial Dragon, and the work is beautifully done encompassing many of the elements important to Chinese culture, faith and folklore. It is a mid to late 19th century garment and would have been worn at a ceremony or cultural event by a person of wealth and social status. The robe measures approximately 54″ from shoulder to hem and approximately 27″ from armpit to armpit. Overall, it is in very good condition with a few minor issues in accordance with it’s age. There is one tiny hole on the back approx 4 from the hemline and some loose threads on sleevse and at one shoulder. Very slight fading on sleeves. Antique 18th/19th century Chinese kesi-kossu textile panel. Dragons with five claws over stylized waves. This beautiful textile is backed by a thin black supporting fabric. The eight and ninth photos show the fabric from the back. The eighth is with camera flash, and the ninth is with bulb behind. These two photos are to show the thinness of the supple black fabric. This fabric was applied to strengthen the piece as a pillow front. Some damage to the panel as seen in photos, but essentially very good antique condition. We have been in the antiques business since the 1970’s. Unfortunately we were unable to re-establish that account after a 3 year hiatus. Antique Chinese embroidered robe with applied round mirrors. Ties at the neck & side. Silk with gold embroidery. Colors might be very slightly darker in person. Depending on your computer monitor. Very good, silk & embroidery are strong. One one small place where the threads have come loose on the sleeve. A few of the mirrors are loose & bent/broken. The mirrors are slightly tarnished don’t have a lot of shine. Along the edges the threads have worn away in small spots scattered about. A few small light scattered small stains. There is stains inside the sleeve lining on each sleeve that does not show thru to the silk. On each side seam are three tiny holes. From edge to edge of sleeve & across the shoulders – 74 1/2 inches. Length – 52 inches. Chest – 52 inches. About the item: Pair of antique late 19th century Chinese bronze vases on their original wooden stands , c 1890. They are nicely cast and composed with great dragon decoration in relief – both have a coiling dragon wrapped around the body and neck of the vases. They have aged nicely with good patina /colour. One vase has had an historic repair to the rim (as shown in the photographs) , but otherwise they are in good original condition with only minor surface wear, very much as you would expect from something that is 100 years old.
