Antique Chinese/Tibetan Bronze &Gilt Statue of a Monk, Elaborate Dragon Robe 6x4

This is a great bronze statue – 6.5″ x 4×5″ A seated elderly monk? In an elaborate dragon robe, with the dragon covered in gold, as are the borders of the robe. The gold indicates that this was a top of line item when made and it certainly is now. As I note in the’condition’ a thin sheet of metal (copper or brass, I think) was glued over the opening in the bottom of the piece many years ago. A 1 piece broke off from packaging. It looks as if this was added, maybe as a replacement for a wooden base. I do not think it detracts but wanted to mention it. Fine Chinese Embroidery Robe Double Dragon Damask Silk Elaborate Ribbon Antique

Listed is a fine unusual Chinese embroidery Han Chinese womans robe. The ground is a woven damask silk with a double dragon roundel motif. A wide embroidered band with various butterflies and flowers outlined with three strips of woven ribbon trim. The wide sleeves are inset on the bottom where they are joined to the robe. The cuffs are satin stitch ivory colors silk with bright silk floss threads. There is some fraying at the end of the cuffs but not bad. There is slight wear from age and use. Please see the photos. There is a slight wear spot on the arm pit of one sleeve. The robe measures 56 wide by 38 inches. This is a nice collector piece. See my other auctions. Vintage Beautiful Elaborate Hand Carved Wood Boat Ship

I believe it is Chinese, at least the owner said his grandfather got in in China. It is definitely Asian though it could be Japanese as far as I can tell. I’m very interested if anyone can identify it. I could not find anything even close to it on line. The detail is unbelievable and the way it appeared to be carved using the actual features of the wood as part of the boat is amazing. I also cannot identify the type of wood. To describe it, it is a boat but has trees, branches, flowers growing out of it. It has two paddlers up front and two what appear to be priestess or goddesses riding in the back. It is on a base which appears to go with it, though the person I got it from was not sure. The base appears to be some type of plastic resin. It was very dusty when I got it and I used a nylon brush to get most of the dust out but in the process the tip of one of the leaves came off. I have a specific picture of it. I did save it, but did not repair it. Other than that I see no other damage. See Pictures for details. Contact me if you need any additional information or pictures. Elaborate Antique Chinese Heavy Gold Thread Silk Dragon Kimono Jacket. Jacket is a black silk with gold thread exterior with a robin egg blue silk interior. Jacket is wearable and exquisite with some light brownish age discoloration along with several tiny holes primarily at interior hem edge. Exterior appears perfect but with scrutiny a break in the silk along both sleeves from shoulder to cuff is detected. Jacket is wearable as is as this damage is not obvious unless fabric on the sleeve is separated; or jacket is ideal for the gold motifs to be used for other projects. Jacket measures 17″ from shoulder to hem, 16.5 from cuff to neckline and 21″ measured flat from underarm seam of sleeve to sleeve.
