The silk panel is beautifully embroidered with a dragon, flaming pearls, flowers, butterflies and clouds. It measures about 12″ by 10″ or 30.5 cms by 25 cms. The overall condition is good, minor wear with a few marks and a machine hem across the top. Thank you for looking. Fabulous antique chinese 5 toed dragon embroidery with gold thread. I understand that this is in the KESI style and is possibly a 19th Century Rank Badge. It is on a silk square panel, as shown in the pictures the silk around the actual embroidery has turned to threads, but all the embroidery is intact. It is backed with blue silk and a trim arund the edge, probably for display purposes. It measures 32 x 30cm. Please see the photos it is a stunning piece. Scarce Antique Chinese Silk Embroidery Five Claw Nine Dragon Robe, Guangxu

PLEASE SEE OUR NEW LISTING OF CHINESE ANTIQUES THIS WEEK! This is an exceptional antique Chinese silk embroidered dragon robe. Five clawed with nine dragons (for high rank, probably a noblewoman). In a scarce color, the ground is burgundy (looks redder in picture). The dragons are in couched gold threads. Finely embroidered with great detail. Made in the Guangxu Period, late 19th/early 20th century. Condition, on the purple border near the neck there are a few small areas of separtion to the purple silk (the longest is only 2 inches), slightest fading, needs a loop for gold ball at neck, edge of neck border with slightest wear. It is actually in good condition aside from these minor things. Length 53 1/2 inches, width at bottom 36 inches.
