ANTIQUE CHINA CHINESE STAMP COLLECTION DRAGONS DOWAGER IMPERIAL POST
Nice lot of early Chinese stamps. Some of the stamps have faults or thins; on the pictures you will notice a small’T’ for a thin, or an’F’ to indicate a faulty stamp. Each stamp was individually inspected, so if there is no letter next to it, the stamp is in very good to fine conditions with only very minor issues, if any. This lot contains numerous blue chop cancellations. An invoice will be sent on Monday night explaining the costs and method. (lóngpáo) Circa 185060 Antique Five Claw Chinese Silk Imperial Dragon Robe
Is woven with the Imperial Five Claw Dragon that was only ever worn by the Emperor. Hi, I dont mean to be rude and I’m sure you know what you are doing but I noticed this robe has dragons with 5 claws which are said to be Imperial. We also thought it best to relist after finding some extra large front panels and. Pieces of embroidery that are part of this robe. They were in a bag at the bottom of a trunk we were going through. The front panels are quite large and measure just over. 44″ (110cms) long and 18″ (45cms) wide. If we do find anymore pieces we will of course add them to the listing. An antique Chinese porcelain jar, decorated in lavender and black with writhing dragons and a pearl, and the eight auspicious Buddhist symbols along the upper border. The enamel decoration is very fine. The foot is finely formed with the glaze stopping evenly along the foot rim. The jar is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. A felt pad was glued to the base. Most of the glue easily flaked off but some remains on the underside. This will be easy to remove with no damage done to the jar. The jar lacks a lid. Despite its flaws, this is a beautiful antique item. Very heavily and beautifully embroidered throughout. I have been told it is from pre – 1900 but I really know nothing about these. Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty Silk Brocade Gold Eight Dragons Imperial Nobility. Long Banner Dragon Chasing Pearl Woven Silk. This piece came from an Anthropologist in the USA that collected world textiles. This is a long banner 90 inches long x 11 inches wide. It is made from finely woven silk, a Damask silk brocade. It has been sewn together in eight pieces to make one. It depicts eight, four clawed dragons chasing the flaming pearl in the sky with clouds, and the land from the sea uprising. It has a dark navy blue background, with gold thread for the dragons, and multi colours. Expensive fabrics like this one was only for the Imperial Court and Nobility. I believe this piece is late Ming, or early Qing. It is in fair condition, it is lined with paper on the back. Missing the right top border. It has an even colour throughout. The window on the side is not showing is making it look faded. Condition Fair, border top right missing. Size — 90 x 11 inches. Age — 1640 – 1840. It will be packed in a small box. Antique Imperial Chinese carved rosewood dragon statue Qing dynasty 1750
Important large antique Imperial Chinese rosewood dragon carving, circa 1750. The carving depicts a five toed Imperial dragon chasing a flaming pearl, to the base are waves with fish swimming through, the quality of the carving is incredible. This carving most likely would have been on a scribe’s table as a talisman of strength and wisdom, condition is very good and size is 14″ tall (36mm) x 6″ wide (15.5mm).
