Antique Chinese Kesi Weave Silk Dragon Court Robe Jifu. The robe is woven to the blue ground with nine gilt five clawed Dragons chasing flaming pearls all above cresting waves and Lishui stripes. Dating from 19th century. Antique condition with signs of general wear commensurate with a robe that has been worn handled and displayed for over 100 years. Areas of wear maintly under the arms and usual seperation to parts of kesi weave here and there. SIZE 103 cm long. All non paying buyers are then permanently blocked from all our future auctions. Amazing beautiful Chinese silk Dragon Robe finely woven using Kesi. The robe has a large 5 toed Dragon near top center surrounding. The flaming pearl with 2 more dragons chasing the pearl below. At the bottom are multi colored clouds and waves. The robe wraps around to the right side and has 5 1/2 inch cast metal ball buttons in gold color that hook into loops. Small dragons circle the neck and sleeves with gold embroidery. Damage along top of sleeves. Measures 55″ top to bottom hem and 68″ tip to. Blue silk lining in very good condition. Colourful silk fabric, gold threads and silk. China, Qing Dynasty, approx. 18th to early 19th C. A very rare ceremonial outer garment of a high official, as it holds five clawed dragons. It is entirely and very elaborately woven in real kesi technique and offers a large dragon above ocean waves and rocks, in the chest area. On the shoulders likewise, and smaller renditions on the seams of the short sleeves. The dominant pattern consists of clouds, which have the form of ruyi heads of the dignity sceptre. Fluttering between them are bats; there are also red wan-symbols (swastika, together meaning “immensely long life”) as well as flowers and objects from the Babao (the “eight precious things”). On the back, the depiction is the same as on the front. Original gold yellow silk lining on the inside. Traces of wear and small faults and repairs due to age mostly near the sleeves. Overall in rarely found good condition. The item that you see is the item that you get. BEAUTIFUL LARGE ANTIQUE OLD CHINESE KESI SILK DRAGON ROBE 19C

This listing is for a lovely Chinese Kesi robe dating to the 19th century. The robe of a blue ground is intricately decorated with a pattern of dragons in flight surrounded by clouds and other objects above a band of stylized waves below. The sleeves with gilt thread bands and the buttons of a gilt metal. The robe stands 50 inches tall and measures 78 inches across the sleeves. There is some significant wear to the robe. There are a couple holes in the outer layer which have been pictured, there are some loose and missing gilt thread bands, the ends of the sleeves are deteriorated. Please see photos for details. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Fabulous antique chinese 5 toed dragon embroidery with gold thread. I understand that this is in the KESI style and is possibly a 19th Century Rank Badge. It is on a silk square panel, as shown in the pictures the silk around the actual embroidery has turned to threads, but all the embroidery is intact. It is backed with blue silk and a trim arund the edge, probably for display purposes. It measures 32 x 30cm. Please see the photos it is a stunning piece. This listing is for a large Chinese silk Kesi dating to the 19th century. It is a large piece measuring an impressive 90 inches (229cm) long and 22 inches 18.5 inches (47cm) tall. The panel is decorated with a continuous design of dragons and stylized waves below roundels of dragons and above an embroidered band of figures.
