Antique Chinese Export Silver LUEN WO Deskset 2bl Inkwell w Dragon (#5267)
Antique Chinese export silver double inkwell deskset with mythological horned beast / dragon. Silver and hard wood. Made in Shanghai, China, circa 1880 – 1910. Measurements: 6 inches (15cm) accross. Total weight is approx 430grams (including wood base). Stands on 4 ball feet with a silver frame under the wooden base to reinforce the stand and support the feet. The wood is old hardwood, with a beautiful patina after well over 100 years. A pair of inkwells with hinged lids. The 4 sides of the inkwells with repousse patterns featuring people in landscapes and a variety of flowers. Caps with key-pattern around their perimeter. Between the inkwells is a marvellous horned beast. The pen or brush would be held in his long, branching antlers. He has huge poppy eyes, an open mouth with detailed teeth and tongue and fiery mane and coat with a variety of textured treatments to the surface. Marked underneath LUEN WO in English as well as in Chinese ideograms. Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. A similar inkstand is to be seen on page 61 of Chinese Export Silver, The Chan Collection. Despite the similarity of the dragon, the piece was made by Tuck Chang, who worked at approximately the same time as Luen Wo. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE. See our policies below. Good Antique Chinese Silver Dragon Card Case And Pen Holder, Luen Wo
GOOD ANTIQUE CHINESE SILVER DRAGON CARD CASE AND PEN HOLDER, LUEN WO. Relief decorated with a dragon one side and figures in river/lake scape scene the other, monogrammed. Maker’s mark LW (Luen Wo) on the pen holder. Old private mid-western collection. Card case – 3 3/4″ high X 2 3/4″ wide, pen holder – 2 3/4 long. Total weight is 106 gram. 19th to early 20th century. Rare 19thC Antique Chinese Export Silver Luen Wo Scene Dragon Tankard Mug Cup
Rare 19thC Antique Chinese Export Solid Silver Luen Wo Scene Dragon Tankard Mug Cup. Stunning and rare example of a Chinese Export tankard. Large intricate Dragon form handle. Crafted by Luen Wo with full makers mark. Created from solid silver with the main body of the tankard being double-skinned. Blank monogram which is rare for pieces of this age. 12cm high by 13cm wide including handle. Weight approx – 271.2g. Please note i have not polished this item. In very good used antique condition throughout. A very small dink to the monogram. All delicate parts to dragon, legs, toes etc are intact. And in very good condition. There is some slight silver wear to some of the faces/heads. Has cause some small holes in these places, these are not. Until closer inspection and pointed out. Please view all photos. Antique Chinese Silver Luen Hing C1910 Shanghai Circular Frame Hallmarked Dragon
Beautiful quality circular frame decorated with 2 dragons flying in the clouds and chasing the pearl at the centre. Made by Shanghai Silversmith Luen Hing and this frame is made in Chinese standard silver 900/1000. It has a glass insert to hold you picture in place. Has silver legs designed like a piece of bamboo, to hold the frame up. There is no damage to the silver, just a few chips to the glass, so I would recommend to get a replacement piece of glass.
