19th C. CHINESE BLUE & WHITE 12.5 SIGNED DRAGON VASE with FLAMING PEARLS, c. 1850

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a stunning antique Chinese blue and white globular shaped 12 1/2 tall vase, c. The central design features a large five-toed dragon chasing a “flaming” pearl. Design encompasses the entire body of the vase and the under glaze blue has an attractive inky cobalt coloration, applied in a darker and lighter wash to create two distinct tones of color. The background color has a pale celadon tone rather than being true white. The neck is banded with a 1 3/4 wave design with a blue line encircling above and below. The dragon’s long body is decorated with hundreds of individual scales with intricate details in the enameling. Around the bottom of the vase is a beautiful stylistic foaming seascape floor. Measures 12 1/2″ high with a top diameter of 2 1/2″, maximum width of about 8 1/2″ with the base measuring 4 3/4″ in diameter. The vase has a globular shape formed with a long neck with shoulder area sloping gradually to a bulbous shaped body supported by a flat foot rim. This fabulous vase has a raised unglazed bottom rim with glazed recessed base marked with a six calligraphy mark. We are unfamiliar with the mark, however, it is clearly applied in under glaze blue enamel and we believe the vase dates to the 1850 period. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. We find no flaws at all on this stunning vase. We are not experts in Asian antiques so we can not authenticate the date of this vase for certainty, however, we do believe it to be mid-19th Century. Pair of Chinese Cloisonne on Brass Vases Decorated with Dragons & Flaming Pearls. A pair of Chinese cloisonne vases decorated with scenes of dragons chasing flaming. Pearls, above the sea. In generally good condition but with some small dings. One has what appears to be blobs of solder on the base. One has possibly slightly misshapen rim, with minor cracks to the cloisonne directly below (photo 7). One has small ding with slight loss of enamel (photo 8). Another has a slighyly bigger ding with a smaller one next to it with enamel damage, and another bigger ding betwen dragons tails (photos 11, 12). Various surfaces bubbles as expected. ANTIQUE CHINESE BLUE & WHITE DRAGON VASE with FLAMING PEARLS, NICELY SIGNED

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a beautiful antique Chinese blue and white jardinière decorated with five-toed dragons chasing “flaming” pearls. Design encompasses the entire body of the jardinière and with the blue painted background having a mottled effect. Measures 7″ high with a top diameter of 7 1/2″, maximum width of about 9″ with the base measuring 6 3/4″ in diameter. This fabulous jardiniere has a raised unglazed bottom rim with recessed base marked with two old wax stamps and calligraphy markings. We are unfamiliar with the markings, however, it is clearly applied in under glaze blue paint. The jardiniere is in excellent condition commensurate with age. There is one very small “crease” in the body on the upper rim and several “rust” specks from the firing process of production throughout the body. There are also several “rust” spots in the white area above the outside rim. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on this amazing piece. Please see all photos as part of the description. We are not experts in Asian antiques so we can not date this piece accurately, however, we do believe it to be mid-19th Century or earlier.
