Chinese large jardinieres planter pot with a rich brown over glaze, Caledon blue interior and fantastic dragons surrounding the pot. It weighs 75 pounds and measures 17 high x 17 across. Excellent antique pot with some age and wear but no cracks no hairlines, a couple expected small chips. These pots are from the mid to late 19th c. Rare and fine antique Asian porcelain – Chinese C’hing Dynasty era – rectangular footed jardiniere or planter, all sides have iron red orange painted dragons, blue clouds and green sea on white back ground. The bottom has painted red square character or seal mark. It dates to the 19 century and is in fine condition- minor glaze loss abrasion inner top rim and age / use wear / kiln marks to feet. No damage or repairs. The planter sits in a fitted carved wood stretcher base stand which is beautiful and appears to be original to the piece. From a Monmouth County estate. This huge antique Chinese earthenware vessel features the DRAGON CHASING THE FLAMING PEARL OF WISDOM. A beautiful dark goldenrod overglaze covers the outside, making the DRAGON scene stand out. This pot shows it’s importance with the five toed dragon indicating quality suitable for the Emperor. The inside has a brown glaze, it is purported to be 19th century. Condition is very good, very slight glaze damage as shown in photos, could use a good cleaning. No damage to rim. Some small firing cracks to rim and base. This pot is huge 19″ x 18″ and 45 lbs. The Best Monumental Antique Chinese Enameled Planter Jardinere W Dragons + Lotus

It is very impressive in size measuring 22 inches (57cm) across and standing 17.5 inches (44.5cm) tall. The exterior is beautifully decorated with a design of dragons in flight and blossoming flowers on a turquoise glazed ground. The top rim is finished with bands of various design with a crosshatched pattern just above the foot. The interior is also heavily decorated with a scene of ducks and insects amongst blossoming lotus growing from the water below and surrounding a single dragon amongst clouds in the center. Condition is excellent with only some small spots of glaze loss and no chips, cracks, or restorations. Not enough can be said about this absolutely stunning piece of Chinese porcelain dating to the 19th century. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear.
