A very fine Chinese antique silk embroidered festival hat, Qing dynasty, late 19th century, modelled as a dragon. This special hat has been carefully embroidered all by hand with the finest materials with the greatest attention to detail, there is so much going on in this beautiful piece. The front of the hat resembles the dragon, incredibly designed with large eyes and ears, the back of the hat features a fabulous and detailed raised Koi carp fish leaping towards the dragon over a lotus flower for its great transformation into the dragon. It is lined inside with a cotton fabric. Condition overall is good, slight marks here and there and a little fade inside, some small pin holes in the red silk. This would likely have been a boys hat. We have a selection of Chinese festival hats that have all come from the same family and kept together. Approx 20″ circumference, 10.5″ length, fish 4″ length, dragon spans 10″. Vintage Navy Blue Embroidered Chinese Silk Robe Butterflies Dragons. Amazing dark blue silk robe embroidered throughout with white, light blue, and royal blue flowers, butterflies and featuring beautiful embroidered dragon roundels at the chest and back! In good vintage condition. Please see the bottom of this description for notes on how I rate my vintage clothing and textiles. One repair to the sleeve seam. One small hole on the sleeve. Some stains to the lining. Lining stains arent visible when robe is being worn. Missing 1 front ribbon tie and one frog closure at the bust area. One small area (about 2.5) on one sleeve where there is a shredded area. Flaws shown in photos! Im more than happy to provide additional photos or details. Bust: 26 inches across front. Length: 37 inches from shoulder to hem. Sleeve length: 16 inches from underarm to cuff. Please keep in mind that this is vintage clothing. Vintage clothing WILL have flaws as it is not new. I have done my best to describe every flaw I see and all details of the robe with care, but I may have overlooked something small. Colors vary across devices and computer screens. My condition grades for vintage clothing. Very good: One or two very minor flaws! Good: Some flaws throughout commensurate with age. Very small holes, light fading, light stains, etc. Can be worn with care. Fair: Will have many flaws including but not limited to– larger holes, stains, visible repairs. May need repairs in order for item to be wearable. Poor: For pattern or study only. My home is a smoke-free, pet friendly home with dogs and cats. I dont know the history of most items I sell, but if I notice strong smoke or mildew odors, I will mention it in the condition notes. Please keep this in mind if you or anybody in your household is allergic to pet dander! Antique Chinese Qing Qianlong period silk brocade dragon panel

Here for sale is an Antique Chinese Qing Qianlong period silk brocade dragon panel. This is a part of a dragon robe. The multi-colour Lingzhi shaped clouds and the shape/thorn on the back/horn/hair/beard of the dragon itself is typical early Qianlong style. A dragon robe of red colour before 1800 is not usual as red was the favourite colour and symbol of Ming- the last ruling dynasty of Han Chinese so Manchurian nobles of Qing didn’t like it in the early days of Qing dynasty. This has been discovered in a Tibet monetary and was being kept at a Bavarian estate until recently. Condition is fair, please check photos carefully for condition yourself as it is part of condition report. You can see the clouds are of different colours, you can see it from the last 4 pics. Size: 56cm X 28 cm. I can see these emblems. Waves and mountain hem (earth and water, the terrestrial world). Clouds with different colour (the celestial realm). Flaming pearl of wisdom (near dragons)Corals and other religions symbols. You can either keep it as a good example or frame it for display, you can also cut and seam it onto a Tangka as it’s border.
