Thank you for visiting and good luck!!!! This listing is for a wonderful and ornate Chinese jade carving dating to the 19th century. The carving has a lot going on and depicts a figure standing above crashing waves wiht fish and sea shells below. By his side are two dragons along with a crab. He is shown holding a ring in his hand beside is head and carrying what looks like a spear in the other. Detail in the work is superb as can be seen in the photos. It stands 3.7 inches (9.5cm) tall and displays well. As can be see there is an area of loss in the upper right hand portion of the carving as well as a loss to the ribbon at the base of his arm. Still a wonderful and highly detailed example of Chinese jade from the Qing Dynasty. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear. Any major flaws and damages ie. Chips or cracks will be clearly disclosed in the item description.
