18th Century Chinese Imperial Kesi Silk Embroidered Panel 5 Claws Dragon. It is 33.25 inches (84.5 cm) in length by 13.2 inches (33.5 cm) wide. It has tears, small pulling of threads, frayed silk, stains, loose threads, and discoloration (as seen in the photos). How we pack your item is at our discretion. This fine antique Chinese silk panel in blue with gold thread embroidery has two five claw dragons and two phoenix birds. Looks to be very old… I would guess it would be from the late 19th century… Not sure on age. The back lining has age spots with some small holes. The front is in excellent condition with a little discoloration on the upper right corner of the dark blue border. Part of the back lining has separated from the front bottom. This textile panel measures about 12 and 1/4″ x 25 and 1/2″. Panel looks much better in person than what my photos show. I have a hard time getting the correct color blue with my camera. Antique 18th/19th century Chinese kesi-kossu textile panel. Dragons with five claws over stylized waves. This beautiful textile is backed by a thin black supporting fabric. The eight and ninth photos show the fabric from the back. The eighth is with camera flash, and the ninth is with bulb behind. These two photos are to show the thinness of the supple black fabric. This fabric was applied to strengthen the piece as a pillow front. Some damage to the panel as seen in photos, but essentially very good antique condition. We have been in the antiques business since the 1970’s. Unfortunately we were unable to re-establish that account after a 3 year hiatus.
