Antique Chinese Brass or Bronze Dragon Tobacco Jewelry Box Humidor Wood Lining Domed Lid. Beautiful large cast brass or bronze Chinese dragon box (metal content not determined). It is larger and does not bear the marking “made in China”. Truly an amazing old collectible piece. Approximate measurements: 9″ x 4.5″ x 6. Weighs: 7lb and 6.5oz. Condition: As seen in pictures. Hinge needs to repaired along with the wooden part attached to it. Wood piece still fits right in. There is some wear inside the wood lining along with some corrosion on the outside giving this box a beautiful patina. Box shows it’s age but it is still remarkable. Don’t let this one go by. This is Magnificent Chinese Silver & Enamel Dragon Tobacco Box with Ashtray, ca 1900. Exceptional hand crafted Chinese cloisonne enamel and silver filigree decorated. Completely handmade with many superb materials and intricate details and features. This filigree dragon caddy box is wonderful decorated and jeweled with turquoise and coral cabochon beads, the cover with very detailed crane-form finial, soft stone rhodochrosite central cylinder, vermeil base. Fitted to sit atop dragon-form enameled ashtray with gilt finish, also decorated with turquoise and coral stones. Very good condition as pictured. Measures: 23 cm high. A VERY RARE ORIGINAL ITEM! A stunning high quality Chinese export or China Straits solid silver tobacco box. It is hallmarked a mark to the lid and tests as high grade silver. I would date it to c1890. It has been superbly decorated being embossed to the lid with a dragon with a leaf design to the base. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures over 3.25 inches (8.5cms) across by 2.75 inches (7cms) tall and weighs 84 grams. A beautiful very high quality piece.
