The body is a stunning cobalt blue color, with an almost iridescent sheen to it–it wavers to other hues in the sunlight. Featuring ornate embroidery depicting intertwined dragons and phoenixes, and crashing waves along the cuffs and hem. The black trim is embroidered with floral motifs. With five engraved brass buttons on the frog closures. The sides have embroidered 10 slits, and the inside is lined in solid sky blue satiny material. With a mandarin collar and drop seams on the shoulders. Please note that the fur collar photographed on the mannequin is NOT attached or included with the robe, however I do highly suggest that you add one of your own–a fur collar really polishes it off as a decadent opera coat. I’m unsure of the age of this piece–it is unquestionably in the style of antique Chinese robes, and it’s definitely vintage, but I don’t know when to date it to. It is in very good condition, with the only flaws I can find being quite minor and easily mendable: the bottommost closure could use a couple reinforcement stitches on the right side (it’s still attached, but looser than the others), and there is an approximately 2 area along the very top left front neck where the collar has detached along the seam.
