Parade Antiques and Collectables. Qing Dynasty 18th Century Amber-Glaze Dragon Phoenix Bottle Vase. A highly unusual bottle vase, decorated with a dragon and phoenix, made at the Jingdezhen kilns during the late 18th century. The vase depicts an Imperial five-clawed Dragon and phoenix (Fenghuang) contesting a flaming pearl. The dragon signifies the emperor, whilst the phoenix corresponds to the empress. The vase is a perhaps a reference to marital unity. The vase has been painted with delicate grisaille enamels on a monochrome background of amber yellow. The unusual brownish quality of the glaze suggests that it came about as a mistake or a consequence of adding too much iron oxide to the mix. The higher the quantity of ferric oxide (iron red), the darker the glaze becomes. At quantities of 4-5%, the glaze starts to take on a brown hue. Curiously the glaze is dispersed with crystalline green clouds, we believe this is a consequence of the copper oxides separating in the firing process. The base of the vase has been glazed with white, and painted clumsily with two blue concentric rings. The condition of the vase is good, though there are a few surface scratches to the glaze. The various imperfections and blemishes to the glaze are no doubt a consequence of being glazed on stoneware instead of flawless white porcelain. Size: 32.5 x 24cm Weight: 3535g. Fine Chinese Embroidery Robe Double Dragon Damask Silk Elaborate Ribbon Antique

Listed is a fine unusual Chinese embroidery Han Chinese womans robe. The ground is a woven damask silk with a double dragon roundel motif. A wide embroidered band with various butterflies and flowers outlined with three strips of woven ribbon trim. The wide sleeves are inset on the bottom where they are joined to the robe. The cuffs are satin stitch ivory colors silk with bright silk floss threads. There is some fraying at the end of the cuffs but not bad. There is slight wear from age and use. Please see the photos. There is a slight wear spot on the arm pit of one sleeve. The robe measures 56 wide by 38 inches. This is a nice collector piece. See my other auctions. Chinese Gold Plated Tin Inlay Blue Porcelain Tea Set. STUNNING 20th century example of the traditional Chinese Traditional Handicraft known as Jin Xiang Yu (Tin Inlay). As I understand it, the base material is Zibo porcelain with 24k gold plated tin inlay. The decoration features the traditional dragon/phoenix design. It is not an antique example, but a 20th century reproduction of the traditional handicraft technique. Such a beautiful combination – rich cobalt blue and bright gold! This set has a lidded teapot and 6 sets of cups and saucers. SIZE: Teapot measures about 7 1/2 wide from handle edge to spout tip. Saucers about 3 3/4 in diameter. Cups about 2 7/8 in to diameter plus the handle. That said, since it is pre-owned, please expect that there may be a few very minor signs of age or use.
