Antique Chinese/Tibetan Bronze &Gilt Statue of a Monk, Elaborate Dragon Robe 6x4

This is a great bronze statue – 6.5″ x 4×5″ A seated elderly monk? In an elaborate dragon robe, with the dragon covered in gold, as are the borders of the robe. The gold indicates that this was a top of line item when made and it certainly is now. As I note in the’condition’ a thin sheet of metal (copper or brass, I think) was glued over the opening in the bottom of the piece many years ago. A 1 piece broke off from packaging. It looks as if this was added, maybe as a replacement for a wooden base. I do not think it detracts but wanted to mention it. Gorgeous antique Chinese dragon robe decorated with large dragon rank badge on the back surrounded by many beautiful gold metallic dragons and silk flowers. The detailing is incredible and very attractive. I believe the robe to be late Qing Dynasty. There is signs of natural aging with minor thread loss and some loose threads. The robe measures app. 64 1/2 inches sleeve to sleeve and 34 1/2 inches long. Would look amazing framed and hanging. Gorgeous Vintage Chinese Embroidered Black Dragon Phoenix Long Silk Jacket Robe

The Phoenix stands for the woman and the dragon for the man so put the two together and you have a happy couple. This is a medium weight really “drapy” black silk. It has a belt and belt loops. Wear this in the evening instead of that frumpy t-shirt or hoodie–just once in a while! I wear an XL and this will just fit me. So if you’re smaller than that you can just tie up the belt a bit tighter. It hits me midway between ankle and knee but I have long legs so if you’re shorter it might be floor length. The sleeve length is 23 inches and from shoulder to hem is 52 inches. This is in excellent shape. It might have a loose thread or two just because of the sheer amount of embroidery but really looks like it was never worn. Fine Chinese Embroidery Robe Double Dragon Damask Silk Elaborate Ribbon Antique

Listed is a fine unusual Chinese embroidery Han Chinese womans robe. The ground is a woven damask silk with a double dragon roundel motif. A wide embroidered band with various butterflies and flowers outlined with three strips of woven ribbon trim. The wide sleeves are inset on the bottom where they are joined to the robe. The cuffs are satin stitch ivory colors silk with bright silk floss threads. There is some fraying at the end of the cuffs but not bad. There is slight wear from age and use. Please see the photos. There is a slight wear spot on the arm pit of one sleeve. The robe measures 56 wide by 38 inches. This is a nice collector piece. See my other auctions.
