Large & heavy vintage or antique Chinese cloisonne dragon bowl. The inside of the bowl has a depiction of a five toed dragon with menacing face & serpent like body. All the decoration is very fine brass wire with the enamel background being a beige colour. The highly contrasting outside curved edge is black enamel with finely detailed dragons and geometric patterns. The top rim and base rim are plain brass. The base is turquoise enamel with stylised clouds, a blue central square with red border and four red Chinese characters inside. The bowl is just over 10″ wide and 2.75″ high (255mm x 71mm). It weighs just under 3lbs or 1.35kg. It is in excellent condition with just some surface marks/pitting commensurate with age. No areas of missing or cracked enamel. Bowl is quite dirty and requires cleaning. There is no evidence of any repairs or restoration.
