A side facing Imperial Chinese dragon roundel. Qing Dynasty, circa 1800. Embroidered with a five clawed dragon clasping the flaming pearl. As the Dragon is shown having captured the Flaming Pearl of wisdom, this roundel would once have been worn by a high ranking member of the Imperial family. This may have been appropriate for the surcoat of a Prince or Duke. SIZE: brown silk square is 32 cm x 30 cm. Brown silk has now shattered. Actual embroidery is strong and stable and in good condition. All non paying buyers are then permanently blocked from all our future auctions.
