Antique Chinese Longpao Dragon Robe Surcoat Woven Gold Blue Silk Brocade Vintage
One hundred years of fashion & accesories. Antique Chinese Longpao Dragon Robe Coat Woven Gold Blue Silk Brocade. This antique Chinese Longpao dragon robe coat woven gold and blue silk brocade dates from 1910, during the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a blue and golden yellow color silk weave brocade fabric, with highly detailed woven designs of dragons, pearls, bats, butterflies, crane birds, flowers, smoke clouds, swastika characters for longevity, waves of water along the bottom hem and sleeve cuffs, in addition to other auspicious symbols, precious objects and the Eight Immortals attributes. There are a total of 8 front and side facing five clawed dragons. This magnificent Manchu surcoat style imperial court robe Longpao coat is loose fitting, a long floor length, with a front opening silk knotted button toggle closure, long full sleeves, side skirt slits and is fully lined in a blue silk fabric. There are colorful silk damask weave brocade ribbon trim around the collar and blue silk, gold couching embroidered sleeve band cuffs. Inside is an old “Made in China” tag and rice paper calligraphy Chinese characters ink stamped label (see close-ups). The robe measures 48 inches long, with a 52 inch chest, 52 inch waist and 12 inch wide sleeve cuffs. It is in excellent condition, but does appear to have been altered, relined with newer black trim edging added. There is pieced fabric stitching along the side and sleeves where it was possibly altered and remade from an earlier side opening more traditional style dragon robe. This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable Chinese textile art! Items come from a nonsmoking environment. Fine Antique Chinese Porcelain Hu Form Famille Rose Reticulated Dragon Vase
Fine Antique Chinese Porcelain Hu Form Famille Rose Reticulated Dragon Vase. It is decorated with a pair of famille rose reticulated raised Imperial Dragon panels bordered by a Greek key design, coral glazed body decorated with gilt gold bats & clouds with Greek key decorated handles and bands, the base and interior is glazed turquoise. The piece is of double wall construction which makes it quite heavy. The vase measures 10 3/8″ tall x 8″ wide and weighs 5 pounds 14 ounces. The base has been drilled, the gold rim has some wear with a small nick, and there is a chip to the edge of the base that does not go into the glaze. The handles have a few glaze pops to the edge which is original. The decoration is stunning and of very fine quality. Please view the images to see the condition specifics.
