Up for your consideration is an Antique / Vintage Chinese Silk Robe. The back has one large GOLD DRAGON set amongst the clouds. The front is mostly a cloud motif and flames. The silk embroidery is exquisite using gold threads. The buttons are metal. It is in Good Condition. There are, however, some loose threads and some fading to the silk. Sleeve to sleeve (across the back) is approximately 49 wide. Back of neck to bottom is approximately 41. Sleeve opening is approximately 12 1/4. Armpit to armpit is 23. Please examine all the photos. The photo which shows a close up of the front best depicts its actual color. Antique Chinese textile, a fragment of an Imperial robe with 5 claw dragons and sacrificial cups, longpao, hand embroidered silk and couching of gold metal threads on yellow silk, notes of interest are: the foliate claws, the amount of space devoted to rolling water with auspicious symbols and deep water designs, the mountains are drawn and executed in a very unusual way that I can not find another example of, hand woven in China 19thC, stylistically, it would fall into the first half of the 19thC, soiling, loose and abraded threads, color fading, the approximate size at the widest areas is 25 inches x 26.5 inches, #JR-02.
