SILK BUG-EYED DRAGON OPERA FLAG Antique Qing CHINESE Hand Sewn EMBROIDERY

Chinese Silk Dragon Flag. A Qing era piece, we believe this was used in the famous Chinese Operas. Made from silk, with hand embroidered Dragon design. It measures approximately 52 inches / 132 cm (measured along the blue border at the top in the first picture) by 76 inches / 193 cm (measured from the blue border down to the point at the bottom). It weighs 10 ounces (274 grams). Condition: The overall condition is very good. There are some minor defects, including some areas of light soil, and occasional small holes in the fabric (see last picture for example). All pictures show the actual flag you will receive. Antique Chinese Dragon Embroidery 1920’s 38 X 36

My mother in law brought this back from changsha china in the late 1920’s. She used it for a cover on a chinese chest. It has been stored all these years and the folds still exist. There is minor damage on one of the borders – see scan # 4 – the backing has no tears. The remaining condition is wonderful except for the folds which will straighten out in time i think. It measures 38 by 36 inches. The scary dragon faces are embroidered in gold thread. Any questions i will gladly respond. Incredible silk thread embroidery of Chinese characters. This panel could be made for something that fold over because the poem is upside down from the drawing. It is framed carefully with high quality matting and frame. 30.5″x5.5″ inside silk and 40.5″X11″ frame. Condition is as shown, there is a few stain and few missing stitches. Antique Silk Dragon Badge/Panel/Sleeve AS IS. This Chinese badge/panel measures 41″ long x 3.75″ wide (when panel is unfolded it is 7 wide). We are unsure of the age of this item but based on our research we think it may be from the late 19th century Qing Dynasty, but again we are not sure. The piece does show some wear and staining/discoloration on the front and back (see pictures). There are also some pulls in the material in some spots. I was only able to locate one very small hole on the piece. Please see pictures for details.
