UNUSUAL 17/18C CHINESE MING QING DYNASTY WHITE HETIAN JADE WINGED QILIN DRAGON. Hi, thank you for having a look at my auctions. Provenance: This week at Joanies we are very excited to be offering this amazing and important Chinese Jade and Scholarly Stone collection. If you frequent my auctions you may remember we featured part of this amazing jade collection last year that brought some incredible interest. To start this fall season the family is allowing us to sell the remainder of this collection and what they believe to be the finest and most important choice examples. This sale features the important estate collection of A. Abraham was a highly respected Asian Arts dealer, appraiser, and collector in the 1950-70s period. Abraham owned the Imperial Jade Shop located in the famous King Edward Hotel in Toronto until his retirement in the year 1976, 39 years ago. Abraham kept some of his favorite and most cherished examples that are presently listed here. Abraham had a keen interest in Ming and Pre-Ming ancient Jades. The pieces in this collection have been in storage since the shop closed in 1976 and have not seen the light of day until now. I do wish everyone the very best of luck winning the auctions! This figure was noted in the collection as being a late Ming Dynasty example, which I believe to be a correct dating. On some later Ming to transitional period ceramics I have seen some winged qilin dragons like this but this is the first example I have seen in jade. I have had this figure inspected by our local gemologist we have worked with not upwards of ten years. They have confirmed this figure is carved of a choice hu of pure white hetain jade. This figure could use a light cleaning but is otherwise in fine original condition with no damage. This figure came from the estate with this nice hardwood stand that displays the figure nicely. The figure is a great display piece measuring 2 3/8 inches long, by 3/4 of an inch wide. The figure measures 1 3/4 inches tall without its stand, and 2 3/8 inches tall with its stand. ANTIQUE CHINESE MING DYNASTY TEXTILE FRAGMENT WITH DRAGON
Chamberlain Antiques LLC is back once again with a wonderful offering of Asian antiques and works of art. This week we will be offering a large array of porcelain, bronze, jade, silver, and other works of art. There are many museum quality examples included, so be sure to check the other listings. 99 with no reserve with lots closing on September 21st. This listing is for a nice and large Chinese textile fragment dating to the Ming Dynasty. The fragment depicts a large dragon in the center surrounded by clouds with crashing waves below. It is large in size measuring 37.5 x 23.5 inches (95x60cm). As can be seen in the photos there is a significant amount of wear and loss to the embroidery of the dragon. It has been tacked down to board from when frame prior and is quite brittle. Still a nice and hard to find example of Ming dynasty textile. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear. Any major flaws and damages ie. This listing is for a large Chinese silk Kesi dating to the 19th century. It is a large piece measuring an impressive 90 inches (229cm) long and 22 inches 18.5 inches (47cm) tall. The panel is decorated with a continuous design of dragons and stylized waves below roundels of dragons and above an embroidered band of figures. There is a significant amount of wear, staining, and losses, as can be seen in the photos. Still displays quite well. IMPORTANT HUGE ANTIQUE CHINESE BLUE + WHITE PORCELAIN FISH BOWL PLANTER W DRAGON

This listing is for an exception and large Chinese porcelain fish bowl dating to the 18th or 19th century. This impressive piece is hand painted with a design of dragons around the exterior executed in a rich and vibrant underglaze blue. It is very heavy and measures an impressive 21 inches (54cm) across and stands 19.5 inches (50cm)tall. Overall condition is very good. There was a couple lines and fissures at the base at the base of planter. Please see the photos for details. Just an incredible and desirable piece of Chinese blue and white porcelain.
